I have found that mine periodically disconnects and reconnects to the network, and lets out three or four very faint beeps when it does this. The display reads "Connecting", or words to that effect, for about five seconds before everything returns to normal. This does not happen at intervals of less than half an hour as you describe, but it's more like every few hours. I have noticed other CDMA handsets doing this, so I have always assumed that it's normal, but I'd be interested to know what causes it.
I seem to have fixed the problem of the random beeps.
I had a tool around the text settings and turned off the reminder function. THis has fixed the problem so far...lets hope it lasts.
I still have no clue as to how to fix the random numbers in the phone book, it possibly could be due to telecom moving them across from my old phone.
Still think it's an awesome phone ( my last was the samsung n105 with the F#$ked up texting issue)
As to the issue of the CDMA phones disconnecting and reconnecting from the network almost simultaneously, I think it may be an issue with switching cell sites, With my last phone I had a huge discussion with telecom since I was one of the first on the network, and they pinpointed it down to the phone (god knows that the almights Telecom could not have a fault) and the settled the discussion by giving me a new phone...which still did the same thing, but hey I got a new phone for free, I still think that teh CDMA network of Telecom is superior to Vodafone, but... if we can tool around the wab menu for free at the moment, and when we do this we are connected to the network, then we are using the network for free, then why does it cost SO BLOODY MUCH FOR CALLS! compared to other countries our calls are really expensive. Me finks we are bing screwed from both sides. It happens.
Hyundai 115c are not known for diconnecting from the network so if its doing it, ring *123 and explain what is happening. Dealerships cant "see" the network (no computer system to do so) *123 can. The other thing I can say is YES 12 month warrenty on handsets BUT only a 7 day right of return (as with every item purchased via a retailer by a consumer) so if you take your phone back to a dealership after a month, they cant just replace or refund it. It would be sent away for repair to a telecom accredited repairer.
So if you dont like your phone - decide within 7 days and use the consumer affairs act "7 day right of return" to try and get a refund or a different phone. (keep reciepts/ box intact etc...)
I've bought a new (3 weeks ago) Hyundai TX115 and think the battery may be faulty. It takes around 6 hours to charge from completely drained. Can't see in the manual the "charge time" for the standard battery, only usage times.
Does anyone know the charge time ?
Also it seems to be drained after 5 days use, minimal use at that.
Five days standby with minimal usage is generally what I would get out of mine. As to the charge time, I find that it usually takes around two hours, but I always charge it before the battery gets too low. If the battery is completely drained when you start charging it, then six hours might not be too far off the mark.
I have successfully stored words in the TX115s dictionary. Phone must be in manual entry mode (ie, not T9). When you hit space after spelling out your word, it is stored. When you switch back to T9 your new word will be available.
