Not quite sure if I'm cursed or there is a genuine problem
with this phone but not at all happy with this phone.

Received the phone as an upgrade from telecom on a 24 month contract in jul 06

Keypad stops working and is repaired under warranty
(BER Beyond Economic Repair, so new phone issued) Sep 06

Microphone stops working 1 week later repaired under warranty Oct 06

digits 2,5,8,0 on the keypad stop working repaired under warranty
BER new phone issued. Nov 06
New phone arrives but they were unable to transfer data/contacts from damaged phone
Dealer unable to transfer contacts from loan phone to new phone.
Consequently I had manually re-enter contacts on to new phone.
returned loan phone but asked dealer to retain contacts on the loan phone for future use
as i would be returning the 'New' phone.

Phone call from dealer to say that the service centre may have in advertantly given me a
damaged phone (despite it still having plastic on the lcd), also informed by dealer that the
were deleted from loan phone, so I would need to write down all my contacts and return the
phone as soon as possible.

That brings us to today waiting a week for the service centre to issue me with a new phone.

In the term that i've owned the phone I've been with out it for over a month in all. starting
to feel more attached to the nokia 2118 loan phone.

not looking forward to re-entering the data when i receive the new phone.

Is this common? I have had nokias in the past and had no trouble.

getting sick of traipsing backwards and forwards to the dealer.

Surely i can expect better service than this?

Any help would be appreciated?

thats enough venting for one day.

Andy

Think you must be cursed, The 6235 in most cases is very good

It is New Zealand's role to send out its bright young men and women to help run the rest of the world. And they go, not hating the country of their birth, but loving it. From this loving base they make their mark on the world.
