I just bought a Sanyo SCP-6600 from Telecom, is there a way to put my own tones on it? The text ones are a bit dramatic, and I'd prefer a simple 'beep-beep' rather than a full fledged tune.

Has anyone been experimenting with adding their own ringtones and if so, what do I need to know?

Try a program called "bitPiM.. I think you can have only 3 of your own tones and i think they have to be MIDI's but apparently it DOES work...

you will need to have a sanyo data cable, and the model you will select is Sprint "MM-6600"

The other way is to obtain a short MIDI and upload it to Sprint uploader which will give you a download link. there is a nasty data charge to download it (a 10KB MID file will cost 50c, 20k, $1) but it's the only other way.

it's a nice enough phone aside the limitations on assigning to rintones/midi
