Anybody in NZ managed to get their hands on one of these to play with yet? Vodafone still don't appear to have a definate NZ release date yet but with the cool features it has Vodafone could be onto another winner if it lives up to the promises!

Hi all,

The GX20 delivered a breakthrough in that it was the 1st camera phone with a screen capable of doing justice to the images it took.

With the gx30 additional new features include an internal, 18-bit colour display capable of showing up to 262,144 colours - four times the quality of the GX20, an SD/MMC Card expansion slot, as well as an MP3 player. There's also an external, 16-bit colour display for Caller ID and reception/battery indicators, which shows the time when idle.

This is great news - Secure Digital (SD) card slot ? for saving images and storing music

a real bonus - MP3 player/voice recorder - an obvious addtion once the SD card slot is in place.

256KB Java application storage capacity ? a real boon for gamers

WOW cant wait

have to upgrade the gx10 for one of these and sounds better than the z600 Im using

March in the UK wont be to long and they will and if not already in testing as the latest Vodafone Live handset - prob depends on stock levels of gx10i's and gx20's.

droooooooooool

The thing that I found surprisingly disappointing about the GX10 and GX20 is that neither had bluetooth. This is unacceptable, in my opinion, for a handset in that sort of price range.

Anyone know if the GX30 is any different?

I've got a Sharp GX30 and bluetooth but the pc software manager doesn't appear to let you connect to the phone via bluetooth (only usb cable or infrared) can anyone confirm thats the case?

Also what codec format should video be in that is compatible with the phone, i've tried copying .avi .mpg etc on but it wont play them. I also had a p800 3gp file that I thought would work but it didn't ???

Mp3 player is cool....

This is part of the strategy of most operators, when the topic is "lifestyle" phones: connectivity is only available through the network. They want to make consumers use the portals (like Vodafone live!, O2 Active and others) to download content, instead of using a computer to simply transfer.

According to Vodafone, the Sharp GX30 supports headset only.

If you want Bluetooth to connect a laptop to the network, or to synchronise PIM and other content, then you'll want a business phone, like i-mate Smartphone2 or Sony Ericsson P900.

Actually I've worked out that the infrared transfer using software manager software works fine, and if you put the sd memory card in a sd writer on the pc you can copy anything onto it you want.

Hi There!

Just bought a GX30 and am trying to connect to my PC via Infrared.
The Infrared device is working but my Win 2000 is not reading the GX30.

When I open the software, there is no data available.

I've used the other drivers from the disk, which work, but I now have the GX30 being identified as a "Modem" which doesn't seem to help at all!

Can anyone give me some clues to what I can do to get the infrared up and running?

Perhaps an .inf file for Win 2000???

Any help would be appreciated!

Cheers.

Hi guys

In regards to the GX30 and bluetooth, i was curious to know if there was any sort of "crack" in order to make the phone communicate with a computer. My boyfriend just bought a GX30 thinking that he could synch it with the comp and just reading this forum ive seen that the bluetooth is for a headset only!? (sux hard)

If anyone can offer me any help at all id be very appreciative.

Ta guys
