Yesterday I  took ownership of a Lumia 620 purchased from Mobicity. I am still in the throes of setting it up and becoming acquainted with the W8 system, made somewhat easier from having played around with a Samsung 500T over the last couple of weeks. Since my previous phone was an old Nokia E61, I am amazed at the range functionality that these smart phones offer. I have downloaded a few extra apps including the XBMC Remote which I am using on a RPi/Frodo combination and works just as smoothly as the alternative RC version which I have on the Samsung.  I chose the 620 because it seemed to have slightly broader spec compared to the HTC 8s and also because of the range of Nokia apps which come as standard. My original thought in going for the cheapest Nokia was just to get familiar with W8P system before upgrading to a 920 but since I not really a power user, I might just stick with what I have got, unless my wife has other ideas ..........

Since the phone is unlocked, I am looking forward to using it on holiday in Europe and for once dodging the extortionate roaming charges. I would be interested to hear from any 620 owners as to their opinions and comparison with the more expensive models.

How are you getting on with this phone? Would appreciate a review of pros and cons when you get a chance.

Cheers.

hey, thinking of getting one myself, wondering how you are getting on with it?

are there any drawbacks in buying this phone before it it released in NZ?
for example, is Nokia Drive and the Music streaming supported?

what network are you using?

thankyou,
aidan

Nokia Drive will work fine in NZ on this handset even if it's imported. Nokia music is not available in NZ.

Do whatever you want to do man.

cool thanks, just learnt what the WMC is. Future looking good for WP8 and for Nokia in particular: <oh Looks like I am not allowed to post a URL yet! - but the 720 looks nice>

i've nearly decided to just go ahead and get a 620. no hands on experience, or really any feedback from NZ users, but still have a good feeling! Just now have to decide on where to buy it from, and then if i want a different colour than black. I like the look of the blue and green one, but  think you are more open to theft with something that stands out.
