What happens when you make a claim? Do they take the old phone back off you? Because I heard of someone keeping their old phone and getting replacements so wonder how the telcos ever make money.

The reason I am asking is I recently bought a second hand phone off trademe so am wondering what the chances are that it was an insurance claim and is going to be locked?
