Visiting China last year, I was browsing in some stores and found a whole range of phones that caters for the domestic Chinese market.

Now I'm starting to see some of those appear online (Vivo, JiaYu, THL etc) and some of them are getting favourable reviews.
Their specs and prices are pretty good.
e.g. Quad-core A9 1.2Ghz, 5" 720p screen, dual-sim for around NZ$300.

Looking at buying options you could either go down the eBay route or an online store like Pandawill or Fastcardtech. You don't have to look far to see people grumbling about them sending them older versions of the phone, different phones altogether or generally being stuffed around.

Question is, which of these sellers (online store or eBay) that people had good experience with. And which ones do you think to clear steer of?

Don't the dual sim phones have one use 3g and the other 2g?
In which case, the second sim would be pretty much useless.

Yup, most of the current ones have one of each.
There are a couple that have both 3G slots .. that will get more common as time goes by.

If you have a second/foreign SIM card, you probably really want to use data on it ... maybe only to receive txts/calls etc.

I'm planning on using 2G for voice and 3G for data, instead of using a USB modem.

G4 is delayed until, at least, next month.

There's a new Revision G3 that should be on the market now ...

That's actually a pretty good idea... you could go a mobile broadband plan and get more data!
