Sorry if this comes over as a really dumb question but just seeking some clarity.

My wife wants a Marble White Note 2, and she wants it on the XT network. The Smart Open plan fits her needs best..
However Telecom in the last 2 weeks are not offering the phone in Marble White, through their stores or online. We have managed to get an XT phone in white but the offering is actually a Titanium Grey phone with a white back cover!!! My wife likes the look of the white border around the screen.

We are wary of buying an imported phone as her current phone (which is an import) has a lot of 'stuff (apps, etc.) which are an annoyance. Also the phone resets itself regularly (this is why she wants a new phone) and always defaults to Hong Kong or Singapore date and time. I guess that is where it originated from.

So is there any concern about buying a Note 2 import or from 2 degrees and Vodafone and just putting a Telecom SIM into it??
Will the phone always be burdened with the proprietary data from the other NZ network or from the country of origin?
