Great idea in theory, BUT, I don't see it taking off. These days peolpe like new things every year or two not an upgraded old thing.

Yeah, it's a good concept, though it will be imo a limited market. Like PCs have been for years, many people just want it to come out of the box and work - they won't want to have to figure out which wifi module to upgrade to etc. But there is a market for it, and I think it'd be great. OS wise, it'd mean a more PC-like requirement for driver compatibility etc, I think, too. Maybe it'll run Tizen ;)

Cute concept, I'm guessing they haven't looked into the feasibility though.

- So much of what we do with our phones is done with a single chip - to break this up into modules would take more space and power
- Talk of removing storage to fit a larger battery is ridiculous, the battery capacity equivalent to a microSD card and holder is virtually nothing
- The connectors and hardware to support the connection of all these distinct modules would use space and power

I feel like they have overstated the e-waste impact of phones - there are a lot of them but the volume is minute
