Hey All, Please Help

I have a Aircard 580 from Telecom. It has been sitting at work for sometime and for some reason i can only connect to 1x.

It also comes up under the card details, that it is a Telus card ( Canadian Telco ). No one at work says they have been there and Telecom NZ dont know what to do.

Does anyone know how to fix this ? can I update the card back to Telecom ?

Cheers

Have you taken it to a Telecom store? They should be able to check the card unique ID and see if it's registered to Telecom. If so, then showing Telus is a fault and you should be able to have it repaired at least.

Hi I would suggest uninstalling the sierra watcher software . Then I would download the latest drivers from this link
http://www.sierrawireless.com/support/sd_acxxx_step2.aspx?ac_id=11&carrier_id=42&lang_id=1&platform_id=1
Run the install and it should in theory fix the issue I have seen this a number of times and it is generally the result of someone downloading the canadian telcos drivers.
Good Luck if it doesnt work then PM me cheers

definately pop into a dealer.  my 580 has had the firmware upgraded on it by a telecom dealer since i bought it - i suspect that might be something that could assist you too...

on another note - I have my 580 working nicely with vista too.  sierra released new vista drivers which work fine

its a frimware issue on the card itself; your card has Tellus firmware with a TNZ PRI or visa versa which would allow it to connect on 1x but not Ev-DO most likely. You will need to get the card re-flashed by telecom's service company telegistics; it should show a telecom logo on watcher not the telus logo if you have the correct firmware on the card;

telecom dealer should be able to help.

try this link to update your firmware. The aircard watcher also updates the firmware & I dont think it nessacary to send to Telegistics. Hope it helps.

further to my post, it is quite possible someone mistakenly downloaded the wrong update, when you look at the sierra website the Canadian update is directly above the telecom update and someone sould easliy click on the wrong link. To look for yourself go www sierrawireless com   support   legacy products    aircard580     and you can see my point you must select "for telecom NZ
