Thats why you back it up and then do a restore when the update is complete

This will restore the handset settings

I've done over 20 updates on mine and friends Nokia handsets via the Nokia Update program and never lost any data, thats not to say you shouldn't back up your contacts/images/music etc...

Updating the firmware will not debrand the mobile because the firmware for your mobile should have been released by nokia nz which means it contains a vodafone live branded firmware.

When you backup the mobile you'll backup the phone settings so no need to worry.

I always hated vodafone branding.I would feel happy for if you got rid of it

I have never and will never buy a mobile from Vodafone NZ
