Work recently bought me one of the new HTC Falcons. Really nice bit of kit.

My only remaining problem, is that I can no longer access the Xtra WAP menu, and hence the ASB Mobile Fastnet interface. (since using the real version in Pocket Explorer is rather painful)

I've not been able to find any useful information about setting up a connection to use for WAP access.. I understand it would be using the same number as Mobile Jetstream, but with a different username/password.

Lastly, What is the url to the main Xtra WAP menu?

Details on this would be greatly appreciated :)

you will need the username and password, gateway ip,port number, URL to gain access to the WAP menu

Apart from the Username and Password , you can get the other information from a WAP handsets in the WAP client, , all so you have to find a WAP client that can be installed on the Falcon. , i think netaccess have one

Windows Mobile Pocket Internet Explorer will handle WML, no need for other WAP browsers on the Falcon.

The Problem is that Telecom will need lok at the UA header info to figure out the model of the device to connect to there content, 3rd party content is not a issue. SO you need to get a client , where you can change the header in to look like a WAP handset, also the client send MIN in to the network.

But you will also find that you may not be provisioned on there WAP gateway anyway

In this case TNZ will have to add the UA for Pocket Internet Explorer to their list, since this would benefit all users of this browser. If the user have to find a browser that allows this change on the client side then the burden is on the user and not all of them will buy another software just because of this.

Pocket Internet Explorer uses a UA "Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 4.01; Windows CE)" and it's documented on MSDN.

The problems is still going to be that there will have to be dail up login;s one for wap and one for normal internet access. As telecom sell the device stating it does not have WAP , i very much doubt that they will put much effort into get the unit to work on there gateway
