Hi everyone, havent posted here in a while...
Ive been going through the processes that i normally do when i buy a new handset. I have debranded the phone (im with three), updated the firmware (version 12) and messed with a few themes.
However I am now having 2 problems that i would dearly love some help with. These problems were occouring BEFORE i did any of the above mind you.
For some reason i cannot get the maps application to recognize that the Australian maps are on the memory card, i can get a good signal from the satelittes but does not "see" the maps. I have used map loader to download them and put them onto my device. All was successful there and everything looks as though it should work, but it doesent...
Also, for some very odd reason, the soft keys have stopped working along with the active standby mode. The softkeys work when needed to open an application but at the "default" screen there are no titles for them and pressing them does nothing!
All the hardware side of things work with my device but im having a few software issues. Has anyone else had these problems? Any possible solutions for my difficulties? Thanx in advance for any help...

Maybe run the nokia software updater and reinstall the firmware again

fixed problem number 2. it was because i restored my data from previous firmware version. earlier this evening my phone completly shut down and when i restarted it, it came up with an error message "phone start-up failed, contact retailer". to fix this i did a hard reboot (green button + 3 + astrix button). softkeys are showing themselves again and all sems to be going well. now there is only the matter of the maps problem. hope this has helped others out there with the same problem as i.

all is good now,
the maps all work and i can navagate properly. i think all i had to do was leave the phone outside for a bit (untill i had at least 3 full bars in the satelittes info menu) and let it "find" where it was. Then it new it was in australia and brang up the correct maps for it to use.
