6165 and 6275 GPS applications use a REAL satellite GPS located in the phone (It was designed back in 6155 days but never finished) for the $299 asking price, the phone is a bargain, it just lacks external memory.
It's free to use and requires no access to the mobile network to operate. It is a simple application that does not support maps etc but has waypoints you can pre-set (I use google maps to mark landmarks) and but works quite well and is easy to use.
The physical GPS module is located well at the top of the phone in the tip of the flip.
