Hi there,
does anyone know if there's a way to enable and use the internal GPS receiver on a Sanyo 7050?

In the US there are some Sprint services that allow GPS tracking with maps and all that - but they require a subscription - there also seem to be java downloads that enable the internal GPS unit to be used for normal GPS location functions .... this is the sort of thing I'm after.  I've tried amazegps.com but that seems to be only for GSM phones, and mgmaps but I can't get it to work ...

thanks for your help

Sorry TNZ doesn't support this, their cell phone towers aren't setup for it - and with the recent announcement that they are moving away from CDMA it is highly unlikely that it will be ever be supported

thanks .... but the version I'm after is one which doesn't use the network cell sites .... there seem to be java applications out there that enable the use of the internal GPS (just like what comes with some Nokia phones) ... I just can't find one that works for an SCP 7050 ...

As Filterer says, this is not used with telecom, although on the Sprints US web site is shows a 3D map but i think telecom has diabled this function
