There has been a lot of discussion about this recently. To give you some suggestions (of which there are a few) i'd need to know what you actually wan't from the phone. Even if your not sure a general idea will help.

The Sony Ericsson T630 or K700 could be options for you... it all depends on what your after.

Awesome!
All I want really is a phone....it needs to have mms, a decent camera, a decent screen, polyphonic ringtones, fast response for txting, and bluetooth.
I'm really just after a top-end phone because they're always top-end quality!
I'm out to spend under 1000. What would you get?

Oh yeah, I'm not after any of the features for business purposes (I'm 21)

Cheers! :)

well i'm about to turn 17 so i don't really need the business stuff.

The SE T630 is about to come out and will probably be $700-800. Basically its an upgraded version of the T610. it has a better screen and stuff, more details on the sony ericsson website, www.sonyericsson.com.

Then theres the K700, also from Sony Ericsson. Thats got a few more months until it comes out but definately worth waiting for. For me I wanted a radio and that was the thing that put me off the T630, you have to buy an external one that just gets its power from the phone (more to carry around and another $100). The K700 will have one inside (which means you can play it through the phones speakers as opposed to being limited to headphones.

Also compared to the 6320 the K700 has a larger screen (and better), looks a whole lot cooler and I really have to go now... ill edit this post later. Check out the SE website for loads more info and pics :D

WHat's the deal with vodafone live? DOes it only work on certain phones? I know it's not that good really, but still! :)

john , the S700 is 1.3 MPix camera (CCD) with video. not 2.2

S/E don't have plans on a 2.2 mpix phone....

K700 comes out June 7-10th arond the world , so soon here

Sony Ericcson Z1010 ?

which is not 2.2mpix

....

whats the name of the "coming up" 2.2mpix phone...

it would be crazy of them to release a S700 1.3 , then right away a 2.2

how long till release>

Does this 2.2mp handset have a built in flash? I'm looking forward to the day when I can replace my standalone camera with a camera phone, but I can't do so until I can find something with a flash, a decent lens, and at least 2.2mp resolution.

K700 and T630 has basically the same camera as the 6230 (perhaps a little better). Vodafone live works on all phones, however for some of the latest phones vodafone have not customised them (put their logos all over them and changed what the buttons do) so you might have to set it up yourself.

Yea, anyway I figure it's better to use a camera for photos and a phone for funstuff like mms, txt, games..................oh yeah and calls!
Also.....on a cellphone screen it's impossible to really appreciate a 1mp pic anyway right?

Keep the advice coming....sony ericsson's sound kinda good though.....

Rebel,
I have owned a T610 for about 8 months and I am very happy with it. IMO, the quality of the camera leaves a lot to be desired, but it's perfectly adequete for MMS. As long as you don't expect to replace your real camera, I don't think you'll be disappointed with it.

I have found the T610 to be very slow when rendering WAP pages, and the software seems to crash every now and again, but otherwise it's a very good phone with excellent features for the price. I am also impressed with the build quality, as mine has had a rough life. :)
