Hmmm the other 6225 thread is locked, prob due to it going offtopic, so i created another.

So I bought the 6225 after selling my 6585.
Nice phone, software seems more complete than the 6585..
couple of issue I have found and notified the helpdesk about.

When you receive a MMS from someone in your phonebook, the MMS inbox will show the senders number (with +64 in front) instead of name.
Obviously you have to change the senders number in the phonebook, add +64 in front, for the senders name to show correctly in the MMS inbox. However when attempting a voice call to the number it won't work, since the network doesn't support the +
The guy on the helpdesk (djuice data helpdesk) said they werent aware of this and took this as being a slightly major issue and will follow up on it.

Second issue is when someone sends you an MMS picture with a sound clip, the picture will show, but you have to scroll down to the sound icon and select --> options --> play, to play the sound clip. It wont load automatically and play the sound while showing the pic.
The guy on helpdesk said this is also a issue they didnt know about and wiill follow up on it..

cheers

Any updates on this?
I rang the helpdesk again, had to re explain all of it... "No... sir there are no known issues on the 6225"! oh ok............. RIGHT!

Another issue, when send MMS to non Nokia phones, it shows up as an attachment....

ahhhhhh oh well maybe they'll get it right next time round..

I have not herd of an update, although I will try and follow up on it.

Any update on this? When I call the helpdesk with the same issues as JaBZ I get told, "No known Fault" Even If I give him a case number, he still thinks that there is nothing wrong...

Awww man that sux. I was seriously considering that phone, because I like Nokia and my Tx95c is kinda clunky.

Yet another reason to switch to Vodafone I reckon.

The phone is a bloody good phone, reception is awesome, and the voice quality is great.
MMS works, but just that annoying issue with the "+" 64 and the Sound Attachments. Not really a reason to go vodafone, Vodafone does not even work where I live so that is not an option even if I wanted to.

Most CDMA phones are just hacked GSM models anyway. the 2280 and 6385 are just based on the 6310i from Vodafone for example.

With any GSM phone, it's programmed to place the +64XXXXXXX sadly CDMA is unable to dial these numbers. Whoopsy daisy, Nokia forgot to edit the MMS applet.

FIX: save two numbers under the name one with 027XXXXXXX as the main number, the other with +6427XXXXXXX in like "pager" or something.

Knowing Nokia's useless support, they won't be fixing it anytime soon.. The'll just bring out a new model.

as for the attachments, Have not had that one. With sending to a sanyo, yes you will get that problem it's a limitation of that phone.

+6421XXXXXX Does not work
6421XXXXXX works,
021XXXXXXX works
21XXXXXX Doesn't work anymore.

+6427XXXXXX Does not work
6427XXXXXXX works
027XXXXXXX works
27XXXXXXX works

Of course they are just redirections in the SMS platform to 02X XXX XXX

Sorry, Telecom had that feature removed just like Vodafone did with the IR on the sharp GX series.

For when they start charging, they want all the revenue they can get by you "pxting" them via their network, that's why you have a single "card" limit and cannot add more then one picture and have a 45KB limt on the message size. If anyone can hack this limitation out and will post here if they succeed we'd all be most appreciative. :-)

No, Not via a Qtek pocketPC or another phone (sony reicsson t610)

The t610 can send to any Vodafone nokia successfully.
The 6225 connects but rejects the incoming file.

Telecom have made sure of that. They'd rather you buy a ringtone.

You would probably be able to Synch it up with the PC over infrared.
