I see that the elcheapo nokia lumia's at 80 odd dollars are locked to vodafone

A quick search on google comes up with a plethora of options to unlock the phone

out of interest is it actually iligal

1. to be the person who unlocks the phone
2. to be the owner and user of the unlocked phone

in NZ

Out of interest why not just pay up the $30 to Vodafone instead of giving your credit card number to some dodgy character on the Internet?
