hey Guys,

I have a nokia 2280 with a data cable. The Nokia PC suite software works OK however doesnt allow you to send text messages via it. Is there any decent 3rd party software (such as oxygen) which a) works with cdma phones and b) allows you to send messages using the app.l

Any help appreciated.

Cheers,

Stew

Oxygen lets GPRS phones do it but not CDMA. Ive not been able to find out how to do this. Short of writing the software ourselves, I think we're stuffed.

AFAIK there is no standard for interfacing to SMS on CDMA. With GSM it's all pretty well documented and all the manufacturers adhere to the spec. CDMA the manufacturer can use pretty well whatever commands they like, if they have commands at all. Nokia's the best point to start, but they certainly don't list anything on the main AT commandset.

You could try checking out the http://www.forum.nokia.com/ site. It's primarily used for developers, but there may be some information about SMS on their CDMA handsets in there.

Jp.
