My screen has broken on my motorola a1000 but the touch part still works can dial numbers if you guess the keys right

What I want to be able to do is retrieve all my contacts out of the phone which are not on the sim I am using the software that came with the phone but i get an error msg saying connect phone

The phone is connected via usb and beeps to confirm it is connected however i believe you also get a message on the phone which you need to tap OK or Continue somewhere on the phone but as the lcd is broken I cant

Has anyone here got the A1000 and can tell me exactly where this message appears (picture would be great)
