Hi All,

I have just received a TXT message from CB message stating Te Aro with no reply option. This is the first time I have every received such a message. I assume someone out there knows what this is?

I think it is CB but some handsets present them as text (damn annoying). If you turn off CB (channel 50) they should stop.

For probably 15 or so years now Vodafone have transmitted basic cellsite ID or region ID using cell broadcast on channel 50. Some newer phones have a completely different way of dealing with CB (as the implemtation has changed over the years to support new features). Turn it off if it annoys you - it's not used for any services in NZ.
