Something very odd this morning ... my mobile sounded out the usual TXT message notification tune, yet no received TXT message icon was showing nor anything in the Messages folder!

It did the same thing about 5 minutes later.

Got home and sent a test TXT from another mobile, and that went/came through in normal manner.

TXTs from an alternate universe perhaps?

What sort of phone ? I had that sort of thing on an iPhone at my last job, did my head in trying to figure out what it was.... never found it tho.  Only thing I could put it down to was one of the many apps I had installed.

Ha ha ... this is a really old Nokia, not a 'smart' phone in any sense and no 'apps' undecided

Never had the battery out or changed any settings in many years ... weird!

Which network?

It could be new message centre configuration settings being sent out.

Vodafone

That's a point, but I'd expect a service message or TXT advising such?
