ah.. no.. it's more likely because most phones without camera's don't support MMS.

it's a nice cheap handset, but uses older legacy technologies.
ideal if you wnat to make calls, smses, and personalise with wallpapers and ringtones...
won't do much beyond that.

I really like this phone. Its a WAP1 handset however the colour screen is awesome (much better than the nokia's IMO). There arent downloadable ringtones (limitations of the handset) or games, but it'd be my choice for a phone if the above werent a concern

the screen is much better than the nokias.

Things I dont like about it:

Does crazy things when looking for contacts
Doesnt support much length for the contact name
External aerial
Cheesy ringtones
No outlook sync

If you just want a basic phone for txt/calling, then its a very nice unit

I belive the Samsung N361 was avalable around the 1st nov, I resently brought the Samsung N391 its basicly the 361 but its not a Clamshell and it has the cam.. $249 for a basic Cam phone

I'll post some images from this phone later also, its basicly .3 Mega pixels
has 3 Capture Resolutions. Low 160x120, (with 2x and 4x Digital zoom (the zoom is quite good)
Then it has Medium Res and this is 320x240 and this has 2x zoom only.
Then you have 640x480 highres mode thats pretty impressive but expect to se 20-25k of data per picture,, you can set the jpeg compression Fine, normal, ecconomy

Pro's

Good allround fone, its small and light, Large phone book
The inbult games are ok, ringtones are ok , I live in West auckland, And i also have a Vodafone Mobile, but the Signal is not great at my place but i get near perfect reception everywhere i go on this Telecom mobile, so i am impressed with the network over the vodafone network on my other phone,

So all in all its a Great phone..

BTW: great forum i've been lurking for a while and decofed i'd post some of my own findings.
:)

(my photo's from the N391)

Actually you cant personalise it much either......

The Samsung N361 does not contain a download mechanism, therefore it cannot download ringtones, wallpapers or games from Xtra Mobile Services. It does however contain its own extensive range of 40 Polyphonic Ringtones, 10 embedded wallpapers (including 5 fantastic National Geographic images) and 3 Games.

Regarding the N391 - the flash is cr@ppy and not worth using......

The flash does work better if you turn off any auto settings eg. brightness. I do agree that the flash is bad, but i isnt useless.

Hey,

I recently bought the Samsung N391 and I have to say it is an excellent phone. the only problem i hav is finding ringtones and wallpapers for it as the Telecom website for ringtones and wallpapers isnt great. i no its exclusive to nz so that may be why. cood any1 recommend a good website for them that isnt the XtraMSN one or the Telcom NZ one?
