Hey All,

Got a problem with a G-Tran Card, showing error 721.

It has been working fine, nothing changed, all settings have been checked, password and user name re-entered for connection to company network but user gets as far as verifying user name and password then bombs out.  The user account has been checked and is working fine and been tested from another user.

The user has has no signial problems in this area and card has worked before and has full phone signals.

The card has a flashing green light.

Any advise would be appreciated,

Regards,

Pete

Not a cell site problem?  We had multiple complaints from last Friday to Monday arvo regarding phones not 'dialling' (or somewhere thereabouts...) in Pokeno.  How's everyone's mobile phones going where the G-tran card is being used?  PS, if it is a cell problem, Telecom won't admit it until 50-odd people complain, according to the boss!  They will say it's your phone and send you to your local dealer, even if you are the local dealer.  Never mind, we are trying to annoy them into fixing their ideas!

Your boss perhaps doesnt know Telecom as well as he thinks he does. I have had specific cell-site related errors reported by clients, and have had appropriate action taken virtually immediately.

Having said that, very few cellphone symptoms are actually cell-site problems, so I would imagine helpdesks (including dealer support) would nearly always recommend the take-it-to-the-dealer approach first, otherwise a highly paid tech would be checking cellsites everytime somes call dropped, or their signal meter was showing 1 bar in the middle of the CBD.

I think the number is three or four; not 50 for getting a tech out to look at a cell site.

As to error 721, I will have a look tomorrow, and see if my sheet tells me what it means for you.

You may want to alo confirm your account is upto date?

One thing to note, when Telecom customer service tells you to go in to the dealers, give them a call first, might save a trip?

This is very true... often an overflow helpdesk staffer (or a new person, or someone who is unsure) may send a client to a dealer, when in fact a phone call is all thats required.

No problem for many, but if getting to a store is difficult or annoying for you, always call ahead, and tell them what you are coming for - you would be surprised at what a mobile dealer is capable of without having to see you, or your phone.
