Hi there,

During these inter-semester holidays, I will be heading overseas, and since I have an antique Nokia 3310, I was planning on buying a new phone.
I was wondering if anyone knowledgable about cell phones could recommend any to me.
At this stage, after browsing the web for awhile, I am looking at either a Motorola V600 or a Sony Ericsson Z600.
I am planning on getting a clamshell type phone and my budget is anything under $900 in New Zealand (I've worked out that a phone costing about this much in NZ will probably cost around $700 NZD after converting what I spend in that country to NZD).

I love the massive screen on the V600, but I've heard the UI is quite slow (both in scrolling to find a name and in txting). However, this phone is just packed with features. The Z600 on the other hand, has a much smaller screen (same size as the T610/T630) and though it has been accorded much praise from various reviews I've read, I'm thinking that at 27 or so mm thick, it is abit too bulky. Apart from that, it seems to be all I need, the calendar being of particularly high quality.

What do I need? Well, I'm looking for a phone with a nice big screen!, good features (calendar, todo list, alarm, just various things that will make planning and scheduling easier), a relatively fast and high quality UI, and good looks and affordability. Not necessarily a clam-shell =)

If you could even just list the models of the phones that come to your mind after reading this and post them, I would be extremely grateful!

Thanks alot in advance

Alvin

P.S. By overseas, I mean Singapore =)

Well the first thing that pops into my mind is the V!!!. Cool Sony Ericsson K700. Don't know if youve seen it. It's not clamshell but its small, however it has a larger screen than T610/T630/Z600.

Upgraded UI from the Z600. Theres a thead somewhere about it and you could always take a look at the SE website.
