Hi,

I got my old Samsung X609 out tonight (connected on prepay) because I was planning on lending it to a visitor to use over xmas.

It powered up ok and I read some of the old messages in the inbox, found the phone's number etc. Then I put it down and next time I looked at the screen it said "Emergency USB Download" or something similar in red text, only way I could get off this screen was to take battery off.

The phone turned on again, but it is showing the low batt warning. When I plugged the charger in it just started beeping and then turned off saying "charger not detected"! Plugging charger in while phone is off results in "charger not detected" mesage also.

Anyone know what is going on?

Phone seems to function ok apart from battery detection thing. It just received a txt and can make calls. Very little life left in batt though so won't be able to use it much longer.

Sorry to bear the bad news, but thats it for that phone, software corrupted would need to have the phone sent for repair and at the end of the day not really worth it
