Hi All,

Can I please have suggestions on how I can transfer everything over from my old phone to new phone.

Its Android to Android if that helps. If there is more information I need to provide, let me know.

I'm obviously a smartphone dinosaur or I would already know how to do this lol :)

I have paid apps I definitely have to take with me as well.

Assuming you have a Google account, just sign-in to that account on your new phone. Once you've done this go into the Play Store and you'll need to download all your apps again. The ones you've paid for you'll be able to download again for free.

If the operating system on the new phone is different from the old phone then some apps may not yet be compatible.

If you can't laugh at yourself then you probably shouldn't laugh at others.

Most new phones running later Android versions will have a "wizard" to do this for you; it may or may not run itself when you first turn the phone on (my new HTC did, for example).

Regardless of that, if you sign-in to the new phone with the same Google account, all paid apps will still be available to download from the Google Playstore without paying again.

When I moved to my new phone I used NFC to tag from the old Samsung S4 to Huawei P9.
Was pretty seamless.
Moving photo's and any download data needs to be moved manually. ES File Explorer is a great app to help moving data from one Android device to another.
iOS is a lot more seamless as you would use your desktop to backup using iTunes and then restore to the new device. But it's much easier if you manage the whole stack.

I wanted to wait till I had some idea of what I was doing before I tried myself and so I didn't think of the wizard but yes, that will help.

What do you mean by 'download data'? Data I've downloaded for something specific or to run something?
