Hi

Can anyone tell me if telecom are bringing out anymore camera phones in the near future? I brought a Sanyo and gave it away cause I hated it. Vodafone have heaps more to choose from, and the 3 telecom have aren't great

Thanks

Out of interest, what did you dislike about the Sanyo? I understood it to be quite a good handset. The Nokia 6225 looks alright, too.

I take your point though, considering how many camera phones you can get on GSM. I was hoping that Telecom would eventually release a bluetooth capable handset, but I've given up waiting. My next handset will be GSM again.

Hmmm - many things, but mainly it was a pain in the butt to text message. and i hated the bird that flies accross the screen when sending. and you have to have it loud to have vibrate and sound. and the backlighting on the keys wasn't great. plus it didn't have any tools like calculator and stuff that you get on other phones. there was just a heap of little things like that that annoyed me. i really want a camera phone, but those three so don't do it for me. i am so hoping they bring out something better soon

I take it that going with Vodafone is not an option?

I know that the Nokia 3205 (CDMA equivalent of 3200) is supposed to in the pipeline but, to be honest, I can't see any reason why you shouldn't buy a 6225. It looks like a nice enough phone to me.

had been thinking about going back to vodafone but telecom with $10 txt is hard to beat....

the good thing about the sanyo was the online gallery, so was hoping any new phones might have that added. the nokia and the hyundai don't have that option at this stage which is a bummer

Just thought I'd put in my 2 cents worth
As far as I'm aware it is really only Nokia that allows you to have the vibrate function at any volume level. The Sanyo does have a calculator under Tools/Extras (which you can assign to the left shortcut key), I grant you there are a few niggly things like the keys backlight and not being able to have T9 automatically come up when sending a text though.
One thing that does annoy me a bit about it is the camera is not VGA so is unable to resize to the larger 640*480 images you can get from the hyundai and nokia.
Overall though I have found the Sanyo to be a rather nice phone to use.

There is currently no stock of the Sanyo till the end of september in all likelyhood. There is a replacement for the TX95c in the pipeline as well as some other cool camera phones including the step up from the Sanyo 8100. Keep an eye on this space, the phones will come.
