I just got a notebook comp. and have been connecting to the net with BT Nokia3650. Anyhow, when it's connected, the speed reads 115k, but it seems SOOOOOO much slower, like around regular 56k--at times slower than that.

Pages load slow, sometimes I'll close it and try again just to get on a site. Anyone else have this problem?

The speed reported is the speed between your computer and the Nokia 3650. From your Nokia 3650 to the Internet it's the normal GPRS speed, which will probably be around 42~48kbps (you're right, it's even slower than 56kbps).

Hmm...now I remember hearing that the gprs speed was indeed around regular dialup speed. I shouldn't complain--it's better than the old gsm/dialing through cell phone speed of around 9600 baud! BTW, it's thanks to you that I'm connected (BT Guides).

Make sure you download the Vodafone optimiser software, it seems to make a fairly significant difference for general surfing. Go the section on the VOdafone site for the mobile connect card and download the software.

Infact found the link here http://www.vodafone.co.nz/mobileconnect/optimiser.jsp?item=optimiser

Yep, but in her case she's based in the US...
