Hi there,

I really like the Nokia 3200, the phone that is on vodafone right now. But Nokia has plans to release a Nokia 3205, the same phone but just on the telecom network. I want this phone, and i want it on telecom because of $10 txt etc. Does anyone know much about whats happing about this phone? Do you reckon' it will come out? if so when and how much do you think? well look at these to pages (they are Australia and NZ pages from Nokia).

http://www.nokia.com.au/nokia/0,,60994,00.html
http://www.nokia.com.au/nokia/0,,61596,00.html

Anyone have any idea? when do you think it will come out, if it does come out on telecom.
I really want it aye...

Thanks for all the help!

I think it almost certainly will. In fact, it may well be in PTC as we speak.

I think this phone has already been mentioned on a previous thread, so you might want to refer back to that discussion. Pricewise, I reckon that it'll be slightly more expensive than the 3200 because CDMA handsets tend to be more expensive. If we're going to hold a sweepstake, $500 will be my bet.

Its not a bad phone by the looks of it, even if it does look a bit strange. You should be able to expect it this month as long as it passes PTC I would say. I'm just guessing but I would go with alasta on the price range.

Well thats the info i've been given, I also hear that the 6225 is dropping $100 also to $499. The $399 is for prepay, cheaper for contracts.
And you're welcome, I'm looking forward to play with it too

woohoo its out, $399 on prepaid. It looks like an okay phone but the keypad looks pretty hard to use...

I noticed that too, Pervmonkey. I think the 'two keys per slab' design would drive me insane.

Mind you, Nokia seem to have a history of designing awkward keypads and I used to know a guy with a 3650 who swore that the rotary style keypad was much easier to use than it looked. Even so, I found it very hard to believe!

After having a bit of a play with one its not as bad as I thought it would be. It will take a bit of getting used to and feels very weird the first time you go to text on one but its actually quite easy. I like the fact you can create your own inserts for the covers and personalise it.
The camera is fairly standard for a nokia VGA unit, takes good enough pics although on the display there are a few noticable VGA artifacts which is to be ecpected with a 0.3MP camera

Whaddup

An inside Telecom source told me that all the cool new Telecom fones (such as Nokia 3205, Samsung X609) are all coming from a new agreement with US mobile provider Sprint.

You can see all the new phones that are likely to hit 027 soon at sprint.com.

I reckon all these new cheap Pxt phones (sorry, photo messaging) could be a buildup to the new T3G services coming up soon. $399 is certainly a bloody reasonable price for the 3205.

Anyone know any possible release dates for T3G? November? December?

T3G should be here soon, but probably not before December. Check this one.

Telecom have dropped the price on the two Nokia PXT phones, because they have run out of the Sanyo 8100. Demand outstriped supply. Telecom then immediately dropped the price on the 6225 Nokia to replace it. They did have a series of adds planned to run for the Sanyo at $499. T3 will be in Auckland and Wellington by January, but possibly not on a handset, maybe only on a data card.

Just a quick question that 3205 owners may be able to help me with:
Is the FM radio stereo? Can you connect standard 3.5mm headphones or do you have to use a proprietry headset?

The FM radio would be a good reason for me to buy one of these handsets, but only if the radio is half decent.
