I've been planning on getting a K700 (as most know) but i've begun thinking i might need more than the K700 organiser (which i don't know much about).

Can anyone give the info about the features of the organiser/calender etc...

Are there things like "To Do" lists?
Do alarms still work if the phone is off?
Are there any limits on the number of items in the calendar (I would definately have 10 things per day plus any extras) or in the To Do list? 100 might do :D

I have had a quick look at the phone but its hard to get a decent idea just from that...

Any help appreciated.

Peter

If it's anything like the one on the T610, it's quite frustrating to use. The biggest drawback is that when you add an appointment, it sequentially asks for for every detail, like start time, end time, alarm time, location, type of appointment, and on, and on, and on. This irritates me because whenever I create an appointment, I usually just want to make a note of the date and time and occassionally set an alarm, so having to pass through all these additional screens is a waste of time.

Having said that, the weekly view is a good feature, as it allows you to see how much of your time is occupied on each day of the week at a glance.

I'd like to get my hands on a P900 so that I can have a more streamlined personal organiser but I don't depend on it enough to justify the cost, so I'm reasonably comfortable to with the T610 for now.

yeah, P900 looks nice and i might use it enough. Having said that the P910 looks amazing. It's pretty much everything I wan't (i don't really need a radio anymore and VGA camera is fine) except the price :(.

1. Yes, to do lists are called tasks.
2. Yes, alarms work if the phone is off.
3. I don't think so, you can use the 41MB however you like. But how would you have 10 events/day?

I do all my events in iCal and then sync them over bluetooth so I don't often make appointments on the phone but I've found it easy to do and then sync them back into iCal. I think the phone comes with software to sync with outlook as well so if you're making lots of events do them in there then sync and it will be a lot faster.

I don't think you'll need more than the K700i organizer, it's pretty comprehensive. You should download the manual from the SE website - all the fun of having one with out actually having one.

Alright, sounds good. I could put lots of the things into the "To Do" list but it would be nice to sort them into days and just look at one day.

Yeah don't downloadable manuals rock :D
