Myabe it would be possible to influemence manufacturers by compiling a list of what should be the "ideal of complete" mobile device.
Here is my "wish list":
Evenything the Sony Ericsson has plus:
being able to use bluetooth stereo headset to listen to everyting on the mobile like
AM/FM radio reception
better quality camera..... some zoom and higher number of pixels
torch facility ....like you can get for key rings
GPS /navigation facilities.

well thats as i see it..... any furhter suggestions /criticisms..??

K700 has all of this except the AM radio, camera (who uses those other than for fun anyway) and GPS.

Not sure about the bluetooth thingy (though it has bluetooth)

Oh and it looks cool too :D

Bluetooth stereo would be good. It requires A2DP (Advanced Audio Distribution Profile), but there are products with this already in the market.

The new motorola e-something (competitor of k700) has stereo speakers so bluetooth wouldn't be too hard...

Thanks guys ...interesting comments.
But waht i really had in mind was to compile a "wish list" of a great mobile device and maybe use this forum to try to convince manufacturers to listen to articulated needs rather than giving us what they think we need...
but maybe cos i am not a high tech person some of my suggestions could not be easily achieved..

No no there all good suggestions especially the AM radio (Radio Sport !! :D) and I would love to see them.

But sony ericsson are unlikely to listen to a little (no offense) forum in a little (no offense) country like NZ even though I think they should and can't understand why they don't.

However if we were to compile a list of ideas and all send it to them directly we may get some sort of response.

Honestly so many companies spend millions of dollars on research and development only to get it wrong when they could simply listen to those who are interested in buying the higher end phones who are talking on this and many other forums around the world. Wierd :S :D :P

AM radio sounds good to me too, but I suspect that there is some technical reason why it can't be offered, i.e., there would be too much interferance from the RF hardware, cathode lamp, etc.

Possibly but i used to always wonder if thats why then didn't have FM radios in. Now loads of phones do, either they only realised how good it would be a little while ago or they found a solution to some sort of problem... I'm sure someone here will know.
