Can anybody recommend a screen replacement service for based in Auckland?

Screen on my samsung S7 edge is shattered, and has a few patches of hot pixels.

I would go directly to Samsung, $366 for a repair with a genuine Samsung display, A lot of the cheaper repair shops will be using aftermarket displays which do not look nearly as good.

https://www.samsung.com/nz/support/oowscreenrepair/

That said depending on the age of your phone you may be better off buying a new phone with a new battery / warranty.

Thanks everybody for your help. I wasn't aware that samsung directly offered screen replacements.

Still havn't moved forward with this. (phone is usable with broken screen glass)

Options priced:

  1. "geek phone repair". $230 for new front glass, $260 for new Samsung genuine screen. waterproofing compromised. (would go new screen as I have a bunch of stuck pixels)
  2. Samsung repair $366 (assume this keeps phone waterproof)
  3. Buy new phone.

My phone was brought new from vodafone NZ in April 2017, other than the screen it is in good condition. Accubattery puts the battery health at 79% (2859/3600mAh). Still the phone does everything I need.

I am weary that my previous (S4) phone had the power button wear out, and had to be taken apart a few times to fix the connection to the GPS antenna, so perhaps this phone could be well through it's lifespan... $366 seems a lot to spend on it...

So kinda tossing up between the $260 repair, and buying a new phone, prob an mid-upper range one like say the Samsung A8 plus. I have now owned three flagship Samsungs (S2, S4, S7 edge), and see little need to go for another flagship. I'm not a fan of the curvy screens, and I take my dslr most places, so the upgraded camera's are not so important. Considering something like the A8+ ($599 from noel lemming), or perhaps one of the phones from cat (armored, massive battery, flir thermal camera built in).

If I could get sell my broken phone for $90, then it is only $250 additional cost over a repair to get the A8+ which has similar (a touch lower) specs, but is more modern, and will have a brand new battery, buttons, warranty etc... Good idea?

[edit] I have always avoided parallel import phones to ensure the phones I get work on all frequencies of the network I use in NZ. Is this a genuine concern, or are parallel import phone's fine?

Went for the $260 screen replacement in the end.

Figured I couldn't justify spending more money to go though samsung directly given that the phone is ageing.

If I got a new phone I would want somthing more modern, and likely end up spending $600 or so for a samsung A8+ or similar from anouther brand. Given my current phone meets my needs, this extra cost is hard to justify.
