One of the family members dropped their phone into a salt water pool at the beach. Phone is no longer functioning.

So far I've tried

Rice dry out
Silica (kitty litter) dry out
Clean out with Isopropyl Alcohol.

Now the phone wasn't crazy expensive, but it is under 6 months old. Any other repair tips or is this time to completely give up on it?

My daughter dropped one into a bucket of distilled water, I removed the case and battery, let it dry, it was fine. iPhone 4S I think.

Salt water? A big ouch, no matter how well you clean it, there will be corrosion from residue big time. If its not working, salt is a conductor, so I imagine that the phone was not very water resistant and it possibly fried something

Yep, probably the salt has corroded/shorted something.

Dunking it in a bath of Meths would have been my first step, after removing the battery (if possible).

My go to is the drown the thing in CRC - CO Contact Cleaner (not to be confused with Lectra Clean which will melt plastic or 5-56 the penetrating oil).
