I use the GR47 modules for remote data collection and remote power system control. At present IP connections are initiated by the module as a client. The modules software also allows them to run as servers (AT*e2ipl). However I can not reach the assigned IP address.
I am using the WEBAPN web.vodafone.net.nz which allocates a public IP address but I can not even ping this address.
Does any have any ideas on how to do this ?

Are you using web.vodafone.net or web.vodafone.net.nz? Also, you might want to try simply "internet" (without the quotes).

I've used "web.vodafone.net.nz" which is working when set up as a client. I'll try internet thanks but I don't think thats the problem. Its like theres a block at vodafone to IP stuff going back out ?
Have you heard of servers running on embedded GPRS gadgets or phones in NZ ?
