Has anybody got any idea of a possible release date for this? Is it likely to be here before christmas?

Cheers

complete and utter guess is $499

purely based on the fact that its a video capable flip phone (so its gonna be more than 399), and telecom are getting quite aggressive on handset pricing (so its gonna be less than 699, and hopefully less than 599).

speculation, nothing more.

Disenchanted - Have you had a chance to play with this as well as the Sanyo 7400? Comparing the two, what would be your pick? Any significant difference in features?

Havent touched either device myself. I know someone who has had a 7400 for a few months now (testing), and reckons its the best 027 phone ever. Full stop.

By the looks of the Samsung, it is a similar UI to the 361/391/609 (yuckkkk). But due to its extra features will probably be a reasonable sort of phone.

I will have a Sanyo the day the they are released, so we will just have to wait till then. (2nd week of December maybe)

Pricing for both phones is $599incl GST each. (Prepaid price).

Of course the usual things apply - e.g. elig upgrades $50 off - + term credits etc.

'Multiphone' or 'Builder' plan business / corporate users will initially be paying $149 incl GST for either handset on a 24 month term.

Also - N361 pricing is set to 199 for december, and those are the only pricing changes / additions for December (so far).

No doubt there will be several more promotions run though.

Why does everyone find the Samsung N391 (and others) so "yukkkkk". i think it looks good, and if it didnt have an extrnal aerial it would look even better

I think the phone itself looks very nice. Its the user interface ("U.I.") that I mentioned I didnt like. It just doesnt compare to Nokia or Sanyo.

Probably better in my humble opinion than Kyocera though. (is it just me, or is Kyocera software really slow???)

I find the UI on the Kyocera SE47 to be really weird. The two hotkeys only ever do anything at all when you're on standby. Why don't they just label the buttons 'menu' and 'contacts' instead of treating them as hotkeys? Worst of all, instead of utilising the hotkeys within menus, you have to scroll left and right through options.

And you're right about it being slow. Entering text is absolutely painful. It's a pity, because it was a solid and good looking handset.

Just off the topic for a second, does anyone know roughly when that new shipment of Sanyo 8100s should be arriving? And what are the odds they will be priced at $399?

I am so annoyed at telecom!!! i think they over price its just like video added.... the sharp gx15 has pxt and video at its only $400 and thats a great deal but as i have a
"contract" with telecom i don't wanna pay like $300 to get it cut off and then pay 400 for the gx15 Hope telecom improves the priceing of there phones.. a 13 year old boy don't have $500 these days

GSM handsets are always more expensive than their CDMA counterparts because they are in greater supply.

And, if you're only 13, then you don't have a contract with Telecom because noone under the age of 18 can enter into a legally binding contract.
