Cost of phone including shipping is 337 NZD approx

It's under $1,000, so GST won't be collected unless the seller chooses to do so. No duty is applicable to phones.

I've been rather interested in getting one also and just pulled the trigger on the Pine Phone. Being a Linux user myself on everything except my PC + Laptop these days I think it'll be great to have something to experiment with.

I am very anxious to know what alternative OS are there out of curiosity i searched and found a lot of OS so i thought to give it a try and purchased a nexus 5 , in 30 bucks and its worthed  a lot of learning .... and on a installation spree for different OS on nexus 5 devices follows are the results.

  1. Ubuntu Port - can be used as a daily driver - almost every thing worked -  ( successfully installed )
  2. Lune OS - kinda basic and but cannot be used as daily driver  -  ( successfully installed )
  3. POst market OS - tried all of following ( still in infacny ) but worth experiencing it  ( pretty hard to install without linux knowledge)

    1. Plasma - KDE UI
    2. Galcier UI
    3. PHosh UI

  4. /e/  privacy rom  ( successfully installed )
  5. Mara Os ( android privacy rom )   ( successfully installed )

planning to try following in coming days

  1. Nix OS
  2. Ubuntu Dual Boot App - to run with android and Ubuntu touch OS with original UBuntu OS raleased ( abandoned by Ubunt

I just saw on Pine64's website that DHL accidentally shipped all PinePhone orders to NZ mistake (https://www.pine64.org/2021/08/15/introducing-the-pinenote/) It seems they've reshipped the orders from Hong Kong while they wait to get these back out of the country - I might be worth getting in touch with them an seeing if you can snag a phone while they're already in country.
