C4LV1N0: How do I? What is the easiest way to Jailbreak a new iPhone 3G on 2.2 Firmware?

Why get one from the US

The iphone 3G sold by Vodafone NZ is not locked down in anyway

You don't have to go on a contract with Vodafone NZ.

Are you sure you know what you want or are doing???

From what I understand you still can't do a 3G unlock of an iPhone, only a Jailbreak.  Jailbreaking allows you to install unsigned apps, unlocking allows for use on any network.  So you're better off buying a Vodafone iPhone outright as they're already unlocked, and then jailbreak it.  Check for details.
