Hi,

I'm interested in buying an Innostream 2100i from studentshop.co.nz but I don't know whether the PXT and GPRS is supported by vodafone (will it work in New Zealand?). I know that the PXT and GPRS will work on some phones, but I don't know which ones, and Vodafone won't help because they don't support any phones that they don't sell, nor will they support my purchase decision.

Is there a technical explanation to why non-supported brands like NEC are unable to send PXT and use GPRS? I'm really keen on overseas mobiles because I think the range of mobiles in New Zealand are poor (and expensive).

One last thing, do all the mobiles by Vodafone supported brands (such as Motorola and Nokia) work in New Zealand properly (PXT and GPRS), or mainly just the selection available in New Zealand (in retail stores, excluding the internet).

Lots of questions,
Keith

GSM and GPRS have stnadard protocols, as long as you get the correct settings in the right place they will work

I bought an inno 55, I shouldn't have. I have been unable to configure the pxt and gprs settings even with the assistance of 3 vodafone agents. For one setting the full pxt web address can't be entered as the phone only supports 30 or so characters in that field. Texting is quite slow also.

Perhaps someone out there has working settings for the phone. I would sure as hell appreciate them. Hopefully vodafoneNZ might get around to adding support for it. Cheers

Ah ok, cheers bud. Good to hear someone that has experience with that phone, that's why I love the forums here. :) I think I'll go for a brand that is present in NZ, but a unique model to NZ.
