I know GX30 doesn't allow MP3 use as ringtone, but I heard that GX30i does allow it, is it true in New Zealand?

How much does a GX30i 512mb SD memory card cost?

Thank you.

When you first buy the GX30i from vodofone, do they give you a free SD memory card? How large is it, 32mb or 64mb?

I heard that the gx30i doesn't nececerily has mp3 ringtones. I read on this site:
http://mobile-review.com/forum2/showthread.php?t=13774

that you can set 11 secs of your fav mp3 for your ringtone, you have to convert the mp3 to wav, cut the 11 secs out that you want and then convert that 11 secs to smaf. the stuff to do it is thru this link.
You then just use ur memory card to put it on your phone.

i also have a sharp gx30i
and i was wondering if any one knows how to put the mp3 onto the phone
have tried bluetooth and direct usb connection but failed
does it have anything to do with the sd card??
is there like drive designed for them? (similar to the one used for Sony memory stick)

to the person whose phone is trying to connect
i think it has somthing to do with how you installed the
phone manager onto your computer
i first installed it and told it to use bluetooth but was trying to connect via direct cable
i then reinstalled the manager and set it to direct cable and it worked

have figured out a way to get mp3 onto phone
and its cheaper than buying the USB cable
go to DickSmiths electronics and buy a 7 in 1 card reader
make sure you format it with your phone and then just copy and paste
the one i bought is $50NZ and have tried it and works
however battery runs down quite quickly

thanks ive went to the website and checked for the card reader there were no 50$ card readers at the dick smith website. however im assuming all card readers can do this and will buy the 33$ version can you tell me the model of you card reader? and did you use the vodafone manager to upload? or the card reader?

the card reader i bought wasnt $50 exactly it was rounded up
it was between $40 and $50 to be more precise
i dont use the phone manager to copy the files over as the phone manager doesnt recognize
the card so i use the card reader.

one thing i have found out through a long search through the web is that the phone was a lot better before vodafone got its hands on it. It had a few more functions but they locked them out. So does anyone know how to unlock the extra options? is there like a code you can type to do this??
also does anyone know how to get games from your computer onto the phone, i have heaps of them that work on the gx10, gx25 and a few that work on the gx30. i want to try and see if they work on the gx30i but without having to pay for them :)

vodafone has locked the limit size of mp3 to 100kbs and video to 400 kbps if you use their device manager

Umm, in the UK we can just change that in the settings but it sounds like a dodgy vodafone thing!

Good luck
