Has anyone with a Nokia 6230 mobile phone tried to download the Windows ME version of the PC Suite (version 5.8) unsucessfully. On the Nokia website I click the download link and nothing happens, why would this be and what can i do to solve the problem? I would be grateful for advice. I am a bit of a newbie.

Do you have a link to test? It may be you're using a pop-up blocker, or if it's an automatic download, Windows XP SP2 blocks this kind of files.

Post a link and I'll try from here.

I don't know how to post a link. What do you mean and how do I do it?

I am very tired now and need to go to my bed, thanks for your reply anyway. I somehow knew that when I started to try to download the software it would all end in tears!!!

I had the same problem when I tried to download it from www.nokia.com site for WinXP.

My phone came with the 5.8 version of PC Suite on CD but there is a 6.4 version on the site.

Don´t ask me why, but if you try the Nokia US site (www.nokiausa.com) you will be able to download the last version of it.

By the way, there are at least, 3 ways to connect the phone to the PC. USB cable, Bluetooth and InfraRed (order: faster to slower).

I use USB at home and bluetooth at work. Becareful because Nokia says the DKU-5 USB cable will connect but I tried this cable and it doesn´t work. You should use the DKU-2 model.

Hope you can make it...

Regards.

Thank you so much for taking the time to reply, it is very kind of you. I will try the USA Nokia site and see what happens.

I use the bluetooth connection at home but thanks for the USB advice too, I will bear that in mind if I decide that I need USB cable when I finally start to download music - once I manage to install PC Suite 5.8!!!

Kind Regards
