Hi Guys,

Having a little bit of an issue with my N82. Basically what happens is if I don't answer after 30 seconds or whatever the ring out time it, it does not go to voice mail, instead the person calling gets a very annoying 3 tone cut off signal. Heh the tone is the same one that Homer gets in the Simpsons with "the figures you have used to dial are too fat" if anyone can remember that....

I have tried doing a factory reset on the phone and tried resetting the voicemail number to +6421700700 with no luck.

I can just about guarantee it’s from where I’ve been playing with setting somewhere. In fact it may have started after I updated the phone to V 31.0.016

Any ideas?

Thanks,
Alex.

Hi Alex! Some settings may have been altered. Why don't you try formatting the phone via

star hash 7 3 7 0 hash

(Sorry for the codes, the forum won't allow me to put the right codes.)

You will lose all the data, so do a back-up if you want to try this.

Cheers!

This issue would not be related to the handset but the OOCF not on the Vodafone network side

PM me your mobile number and Vodafone 4 digit account PIN and let me take a look

(Do not post these into the GZ forums)

John

Big thanks to John who gave me a call and talked me though the fault. From what I understand (John feel free to put me right here) its because I was trying to set an extended ring duration on the phone using the phones built in divert options insted of sending the manual service request. The phone in turn was setting the voicemail number to 64 707 as this is what is programmed into the "1" key. So the issue was with the person between the keypad and the chair not knowing what he was doing and playing anyway not with vodafone. :P
