Hi Demon. Unfortuneatly not. It's not an option that can't be disabled. It does however have it's use's, particulary if you are sending to another Telecom phone. If the recipient phone is unavailable, you won't get the notification until the phone comes back into signal or is turned on, and the message actually delivered. I don't believe off the top of my head you get a notification back if it's between Telecom <-> Vodafone. Due to it having to pass through the SMS gateway, but I may be wrong on the Telecom <-> Vodafone bit.

LOL. You could try, but I can't see you having much luck.. Short of disabling SMS on your phone completely that is.

Another upside I forgot to mention is if you message people with prepays you should get a failed delivery if they don't have credit (ie: can't receive txt's either).

Jp.

Thx for that Jama. I was pretty sure it couldn't, but wasn't 100% certain.

As the phone has a very basic SMS client , which did not allow you to switch this on and off in the menu, it was decided to leave it on , and at least you know the SMS go there, rather than never knowing at all
