Problem very recently started. When I select a contact to phone I get a popup message "To use this feature, you need to allow permission in Settings". The link in the popup takes me to Group Sharing. When I check my settings all the appropriate permissions are set.

Wassup?

Did Perplexity or ChatGPT give you any useful suggestions? I copied your question in and it had a few things to try, but I see no point copying and pasting AI replies in here.

Did I miss something?  If all we're going to do is tell people to use Perplexity or ChatGPT when a question is posted, we may as well give up on forums.  The whole point of a forum is to crowdsource from people who might know the answers, or have experience finding their way through problems to an answer, and then have a repository to search later.

What app are you using for phone calls?

Are you using the standard Samsung app, the Google Phone app or something else?

It's worth a check first I reckon, to see if it helps. I put the question into Perplexity first and it had some useful basic suggestions to try. AI is why Stack Exchange traffic has dropped massively.

Ok, ok, I get it. I was just trying to be helpful - I had done the search on Perplexity myself when I saw the question and gotten some useful ideas, I just didn't see any point doing a copy and paste. I almost always try gen AI before asking a question, unless the answer is an opinion or experience based.

and some people ask on forums even though there are other potentially faster ways to get an answer. that way works for them. your way works for you.

Check AI will be the new LMGTFY
