I have had the same problem got my phone the other week and thought I would be able to load games onto it via bluetooth. Little did I know then that you can only load Pictures video and sound files. Cant use mp3's for the ringtones and to load anything on or off the phone you need to use bluetooth handset manager which is quite limited. Luckily I have an SD card reader built into my Laptop so I thought i could load games on through that. Guess what you cant. The phone is locked down so you cant load the games on. They are stored on the phone in an area of memory that the bluetooth handset manager software wont let you see and if you copy them onto the sd card they dont show up either. So the other day i thought i would load a game on and it cost me £5 for a 104k file. So I have heard that you can load the jar file games on through wap. Set up a web page that your phone can connect to and post the games up to the web page. Then connect to the web page with your phone and download the games. Problem is I think they charge you for the amount you dl via gprs. I have read that you can get wap access for free by changing your gprs settings but cannot confirm this. If anyone knows a way to get wap free with the gprs settings please post here. Im not testing it yet becuase im on a contract phone and wont know if im being charged or not.

thanks piper,
seams the phone companies win again , im sure you can get all these resrictions unlocked from a good mobile phone shop i will find out.
im like you sick of paying through the nose for games when we should be able to put on phone via sd card.
rule my old nokia 6600 i could do all sorts with that even watch full dvds on it, i paid good money for this sharp gx30i and quite frankly its the pits, A BIG THUMBS DOWN.

Its probably being promoted by vodaphone imagine the amount of money there going to earn selling games and charging for downloads over gprs or wap access. No wonder they limited the software so you cant download to your pc and just buy a bluetooth dongle. I didnt no anything about phones untill last week when i changed my old phone. That was a nokia 3310. I got this one off the recommendation of the phone guy when i rang up to either cancel my contract or change my phone. He recommended another one at 1st but that didnt play mp3's. Then he recommended this one when i said i wanted one that played mp3's. He didnt mention i couldnt use them as ringtones. A clear sign that they like people having this phone in a way. No wonder.

Lets hope some genius works out a way to load our games on for free and posts it up here.

Good luck I will post it up here if i find out

Go to http://gx30.co.uk You should be able to upload your games onto the 'Vault' and download them onto your GX30i via wap (just follow the instructions). You'll also find loads of stuff to customize your phone - i.e animated gifs / ringtones / movies etc.

Hope this helps!
