I see that Vodafone have recently announced the SE C510 available for $549.

I also see that Telecom have announced the SE C510a for the XT network at $399. That's $150 cheaper than the vodafone equivalent.

My question is this, is this the same phone, but with a slightly different model number? Could I purchase the C510a from Telecom and insert my vodafone SIM for use on the Vodafone network?

The only difference I can see is that the Vodafone C510 is black, whereas the XT version is silver. I'd prefer black, but is it worth the extra $150 (I think not). Does anyone know there is a black XT model, or a silveer Vodafone variant?

At the very least, it looks like there will be some good arbitrage opportunities coming up between the two networks.

One does 850/2100 3G for XT and the other does 900/2100 3G for Telecom.

Phones can't be switched between networks unless you don't care about 900 3G coverage.

ok, thanks. Will be interesting to see if vodafone varys their price to match Telecom's offering.
