Hello,

My name is Timothy. I'm a Supervisor for a Telephone Answering Service. It's family owned.

We answer for Doctors primarily, but we have other business' as accounts as well.

Currently I've come across an issue when trying to contact a Doctor via Alpha page. For those of you who don't know, an alpha page is basically a SMS text sent from a computer, instead of another phone.

The Doctor has an iPhone. Now, my question is, is it her phone? Or does she need to speak with her provider about allowing alpha pages to go through?

Basically this is how I have it set up: 10digitphonenumber@mobile.mycingular.com

Her wireless provider is AT&T/Cingular.

I am not sure how it works with AT&T Wireless, but with Vodafone New Zealand you have to fisrt send a SMS to a shortcode with a keyword to turn this kind of service (e-mail to SMS) on or off...

Perhaps she needs to contact AT&T Wireless to enable this service on her account?

Hmm, I will speak with the Doctor about it - thanks for the input! Can't hurt to try!
