Ok well the number i have been given via text message from a friend here is 8529018596421427. Well at least that is the number on his phone went he was called. The number belong to a friend in hong kong and I want to be able to call/text him as he is coming over soon. Is it as simple as putting a + in front of that? Seems like a huge number! but i am no expert and have not had to contact anyone who does not have an nz or oz cell before.

Yeah i tried to just put a + in front if it and that did not work. from what i gathered quickly the country code is 852 and also im pretty sure that the actual cell number cant be that long can it? i just want to be able to call the guy cos his plane is leaving tonight and he does not have my number at all.

it could also be a "calling card" number, an callerID over international landline can be very mysterious... I won't take that superlong number as the actually caller's ID.

Internet is my backyard...

hmm i never thort of that I just presumed it was his cell but it could very well have been a landline i guess. That is simply the number that came up on a friends phone.
