Have just spent the day using one of these.

Its not worth $599 IMO. Its just an X609 with camera+video really.
Its nice, but only $349 nice.

Back to my Sanyo 7400 - P2T rocks. I use it HEAPS

Its a good phone for a Samsung... I see Samsung as the low end manufacturer of Telecom handsets.

To be fair, how many people are using Corporate WAP in NZ (on Telecom), and of those, how many would choose the A680 vs the 7400 (not many, if any.....)

Also no "tethered data" support AFAIK. So no using it as a modem via usb cable.

Just a couple of notes....

The A680 will only crash on certan off site pages. These are either pages served from a incorrectly configured server, or pages that are badly written (or both).

The x609 is a WAP1 handset. The A680 is WAP2.

It can't be true, because Telecom promote this handset as supporting Video Messaging. That would obviously be false advertising if the handset were unable to send videos!

They have all these new ads on TV tonight with advertising make useless videos and send them T3G and it does not even use there T3G network.

The same could probably be said about push to talk.

Don't forget that 'T3G' is Telecom marketing lingo rather than a technical term. It can encompass any services that Telecom want it to, irrespective of whether those services utilise CDMA EV-DO or not.

does def send video messages

video messaging is overrated due to low frame rates and quality loss. Beggars can't be choosers though
