It says on the specs it can take a maximum of a 4GB micro SD card , but I'm guessing it should still work with a 8GB card. maybe even 16GB ?

Anyone tried it ?  know for sure ?

Thanks

Not if you have more than 4GB files you need to carry around on your phone.

Try contacting Flashcards.co.nz - I am sure if you talk to them in advance, they will offer a return should the card not work (thats if they cant give you a definitive answer up front).

They have been really good to deal with in the past.

As the OP has a R7. Do you have any problems receive MMS type of messages?? We have one and last nite my niece sent a video from her fone and when we went to retrieve it we got the message of the file being too large (317K). Had the file resent to a Samsaung W531 and no problems.. We have also had problems with  picture  MMS as well

Yes, it's supposed to work and indeed does with a Sandisk 8GB MicroSD.

The handset has a proper SD file system and can browse folders directly too.
Surprisingly, it was able to play some of the Youtube mp4 format videos and smooth, mov videos had, err, interesting results as some other obscure formats though it attempted to play them.

and why do all Chinese manufacturers insist on still calling them T-Flash cards!

The maximum size for a MMS message is 300KB including the SMIL(package wrapper), txt, images and audio. Any chance you can tell me what make/model/network phone sent that 317KB message?

The fone is a Sanyo 7500.  But that doesn't explain why it was ok to a W531.  The originating fone was on the CDMA network along with the 531

Ahh, CDMA phones could support larger messages than the 300KB limit on GSM/UMTS networks, interesting that there is no automatic rescaling when messages are delivered cross-platform, my old 6275 used to have images always rescaled to a teensy tiny size so it wasn't a problem.

All UMTS/GSM standard phones have a send limit of 30KB (sharp gx10), 50KB (old nokias) 100KB, (most GPRS based phones) or 300KB (most UMTS/3G phones) to try to alleviate problems.

Thanx. Yep we learned about the sent limit pretty fast compared to the old 531. Will pass the info on..
